Dutch Moonen Shipyards, builders of displacement, semi-displacement and explorer yachts between 72 and 124 feet, have delivered the 7th in their remarkable 84 Series.
The project was designed by René van der Velden with naval architecture by Stolk Marimecs. Moonen 84 Series was introduced in 2002 with the launch of Mimi and has since become the shipyard's most successful series in 25 years.
The new Moonen 84, Etoile d'Azur, was built for a client who decided to replace his previous 68-foot boat with a faster, bigger and more comfortable yacht. The owner was attracted to the Moonen 84's classic lines. He was familiar with the series as a member of the Monaco Yacht Club, where more than one Moonen is moored. He signed a contract in 2005 and took delivery of his new boat with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure in December 2007.
Apart from that, in 2007 Moonen delivered 2 semi-displacement 94’ Alu yachts and has currently 5 boats in various stages of construction: 1 semi-displacement 99’ Alu, 2 displacement yachts of 97 feet, as well as 2 more yachts of 84’ and 124’ respectively.
