...was spotted at the Los Angeles Motor Show. Audi presented an unusual concept in California: a convertible crossover. Audi engineers gave the 2-door 4-seater the brand's customary fabric folding roof and got a new hybrid classified as Cross Cabriolet.
To be fair it should be noted the concept of a convertible SUV is anything but new (the first Jeeps didn't have any roof at all), but it's the first "beast" of this kind in the Audi model line. The concept uses the A4 chassis and the engine of A5.
Under the crossover's bonnet one finds a three-litre 240 hp TDI engine with a 500 Nm torque; it's supposed to make the vehicle sufficiently dynamic, while a Quattro four wheel drive provides off-road characteristics. Note that the company designers tried to keep Diesel fuel consumption at the minimum: no more than 7.3 l per 100 km, while the exhaust exceeds EU6 requirements.
