Fly by… automobiles

Carl Dietrich, executive director of the company Terrafugia, informed that the flight tests of an airplane-transformer will last till the end of the year and the deliveries to the customers will be started from the end of 2009.

The airplane-transformer was presented at AirVenture in Oshkosh. In the near future it will be certified as a light sporting airplane. For this purpose the construction’s weight should be reduced.

The development of the innovative airplane-transformer was financed by the private investors; their names are kept in secret.

As Carl Dietrich stated, the company has no problems with financing and sells the first airplane at the cost of $194,000. At the present time the orders for another 50 airplanes have already been placed.
