Lorenzo Riva's court ball

Lorenzo Riva's haute couture spring-summer 2008 collection is a wealth of shades and colours: lilac and violet organza blends with pleated golden and silver silk.

Green apple, shocking pink, saffron and gold: the colours used in starched clothes made of double-sided Mikado silk and Empire chiffon dresses.

Stand-up collar cloaks widening into a trapeze just above the waist: super-imposition of velvet, taffeta and blue Mikado. In evening dresses embroidered with paste and black bugle beads, the designer used tulle - again adorned with embroidery, with a long flowing train as the finishing touch.

Voluminous wedding dress - the essence of a Versailles court ball - features a unique combination of wisteria pleated silk and hand-made embroidery.
