The Emirates Diving Association (EDA) announces the 100% growth in the number of participants of the Diving Middle East Exhibition (DMEX) compare to last year. The DMEX is held alongside the Dubai International Boat Show.
"The significant expansion of DMEX reflects the ongoing boom in diving as a sport in the Middle East. Activities like diving are a major attraction for international visitors with growing popularity in the Middle East," commented Helal Saeed Al Marri, director general of the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
The growing interest in diving is supported on a very high level: the Emirates government is interested in rasing the region’s appeal to tourists. The exhibition will feature many programmes associated with accomodation and dive tours, as well as training programmes for tourists.
The Seychelles and Malaysian Tourist Departments have their stands at the show, which is a sign of its growing popularity.
