A special $300 million project called the Universitas Leadership Sanctuary will be built in Nevada desert not far from Las Vegas, where presidents and prime-ministers will be able to relax, deal with stress and finally "figure out the meaning of life", reports the Guardian.
The presidential complex will be off-limits to press secretaries and political advisers. It will have a garden whose produce will be brought to the table; note that presidents will have a chance to work there, while contemplating strategies for world trade negotiations.
To remind the presidents about their "planet-ruling" status, the sanctuary on the Las Vegas lake shore in South Nevada will be shaped as a globe. The main building will have four storeys, with a library and a conference room on the ground floor. The second level will serve as the technical zone while the top glass-domed level will be used as "spiritual area" where the leaders will be able to meditate in silence. Residential quarters will be constructed next to the main globe.
Spokesman for the Las Vegas Lake resort confirmed that the foundation was interested in buying a 26-hectare plot currently taken by a Ritz Carlton hotel, some luxury villas and a spa. The location suggests that the presidents taking a rest in the sanctuary will have a chance to play golf on the nearby course and visit the small casino. And if it proves insufficient, Las Vegas is just 27 km away.
