Chicago Hyatt Hotels & Resorts announced the corporation’s plans to build several new hotels in China. Hyatt is going to open several hotels before the Beijing Summer 2008 Olympiad, to accommodate the guests of this grandiose event.

The first hotel built as part of this large-scale project was Grand Hyatt Guangzhou, opened in April. In July, when the Olympiad starts in Beijing, Park Hyatt Shanghai and Park Hyatt Beijing will open their doors. And by 2010 nine more Hyatt hotels will be completed in China.

"China is pursuing the "open doors" policy these days, so tourism becomes a key income source, which in turn promotes business contacts to the benefit of Chinese businesses. We believe this market is extremely attractive for investments", says Steve Haggerty, head of Hyatt’s Real Estate & Development.
