Doll playing
Dolls are the main theme of the autumn-winter collection 2007-2008 by designer Anastacia Zheleznova. Loose fit, open back, low cut and semitransparent high-neckline tops with models wearing black and white classic bob wigs precisely reflect the idea of the collection called “The dolls played by heirs”. Also featured are lavishly embroidered dresses, flowing floor-length skirts, glittering gold fabrics and cool silver shimmer, glamorous plumage, fluffy angora, sparkling patent leather. A doll house with real lifesize girls – quite an attractive and intriguing image that had stirred men’s imagination for many generations.
Through the looking-glass of the Russian soul
A new collection by Rusan & Slavina invites us to come through the looking-glass of the Russian Middle Ages. The emphasis is on complicated cuts and multi-layered silhouette reminiscent of the traditional Russian sarafan. Accessories and details imitate ancient embroidery motifs. Feminine fit, low cut, insets imitating the famous Orenburg shawl, caracultcha details and semi-precious jewellery, velvet jackets with lavishly decorated piping – it’s classic Russian style individually transformed by the designers.
