The Versace empire has decided to conquer all nature’s elements. Having taken a firm hold on the ground, the corporation took off into the sky heights. The unique modern baroque by Versace can now be seen in the interiors of private planes and helicopters.
A superhome in the sky
After signing a contract with TAG Aircraft Interiors Limited Versace designers created a couture collection for Airbus A319 business jet. It’s a first ever example of cooperation between a fashion house and air corporation. Giancarlo Di Risio, President of Versace, confidently speaks, "I’m sure that today the style of life is extremely important. The excitement from owning pretty things or shoes may not last as long as flying one’s own helicopter or jet. It’s a 360-degree turnaround". Incidentally, Giancarlo was the inspirer of other projects just as successful as this one: houseware, hotel and supercar design. And now a complete turnaround is expected in the field of private aviation.
A319’s style is easily recognizable: the brand uses its all-time-favourite combination of black and white and Greek motifs. There are all needed facilities for the aircraft’s owner and his or her guests: a top-end cabin with 16 exclusive seats, an office with all necessary equipment and a special resting zone with a luxurious bathroom. The signature Versace style is everywhere, from specially designed chairs to interior details and accessories of each of the aircraft compartments. It’s a harmonious blend of TAG Group, a company with a 30-years sales leading experience, and one of the most popular Italian fashion brands.
Incidentally, it’s not the first time TAG and Versace work together: last year they created exciting interiors for Bombardier Global Express, Gulfstream 550 и Boeing BBJ. The planes were embellished with the famous rectangular pattern and Medusa head, the chairs upholstered in black and white leather, the cabin decked out in accessories from Versace Home collection. A limited edition collector’s catalogue telling the story of the two famous companies working together was issued. It has a silk cover and can be given to any VIP client who’s interested.
There’s a client for Airbus A319 at the moment whose name remains undisclosed. The designer jet can be bought for $60 million. The launch is scheduled for the last quarter of 2008.
The magic helicopter
Not only planes have attracted Versace’s attention, as far as aviation is concerned. They’ve created a new helicopter model together with Agusta Westland, an English-Italian concern. "This is a totally normal development for the "Versace universe". Our brandname has long ago stopped being associated with fashion only. We fill every facet of our life with luxury," Giancarlo Di Risio said.
A helicopter by Italian brand is an ultraexclusive offer because the interior outfitting is totally customizable – but nevertheless made in the style of Versace houseware. The exterior reflects the style of the designing house: a white helicopter with a black Greek pattern, a blend of Art Deco and Art Liberté with futuristic details. It’s best to place an order with Agusta Westland right now, because the helicopter, as always in such cases, comes in a limited edition.
